Pūblico restaurant & mezcaleria

Niche Travel Guides

The highlight of our 2026 Mykonos dining guide is the recently opened Pūblico Restaurant & Mezcaleria, situated in the heart of Mykonos old town. It’s not often you think of Mykonos as a destination for top-notch Mexican cuisine, but Pūblico is changing that perception.

Founded by Edgaras Gaidamavicius, who honed his skills at Zuma in London, Pūblico showcases his extensive culinary expertise. The other founder is Antonina Krokhina, who came with experience from the PR industry in Paris and London.

Relax on their charming terrace while savoring custom-crafted cocktails and exceptional Mexican dishes. The restaurant’s decor features hand-painted murals and motifs that beautifully blend elements of both Mexican and Mykonos culture.

At Pūblico, it’s clear that extra care has been invested into every detail. The tortillas are crafted by hand, the meat is grilled over an open flame, the salads are fresh and colorful, and the homemade sauces that accompany each dish burst with flavor.

The menu is organized into four categories: Snacks, Tacos, Salads, and Main Courses. To truly appreciate what Pūblico has to offer, we suggest selecting a few items from each section.
Standout items among the snacks include the exceptional guacamole with crunchy tostadas and the crispy squid. Every taco is fantastic, but our top picks are the steak and the spicy chicken chipotle. For main courses, we highly recommend the chargrilled octopus served with black garlic and potato parmentier, and the fresh lemon butter prawns. The roasted eggplant salad pairs nicely with all the dishes.

The cocktails are some of the finest in Mykonos. While you’ll likely want to sample them all, don’t miss the chili and passionfruit margarita or the Hey Mambo—a delightful blend of Aperol, mezcal, fresh pineapple, and lime.

The restaurant boasts the most extensive assortment of mezcals in Mykonos. If you reach out to them, they will arrange a personalized mezcal tasting for your party.

Pūblico also offers a seperate concept called The Mykonos Brunch Club, featuring dishes like avocado toast, pancakes and eggs benedict.
