Can Mimosa

Niche Travel Guides

On our most recent trip to Ibiza in August 2021 we were delighted to discover Can Mimosa, located in our favourite village in Ibiza – Santa Gertrudis. The 200 year old farmhouse restaurant and bar has recently been tastefully refurbished by passionate owners Holly and Pedro. Their garden is the perfect spot for a long lunch or a romantic evening under the stars. It’s the friendly staff, relaxed environment and flavoursome dishes that will keep guests and locals returning to Can Mimosa.

The menu is inspired by seasonal Mediterranean dishes and many of the vegetables are sourced from the garden located outside the kitchen. The head chef Tim Payne, has worked around Europe at many established restaurants including under the stewardship of Marco Pierre White.

We were lucky enough to try a number of tasty dishes from their menu. We started with the local goats cheese and beetroot salad, with honey, pepper and sherry dressing and some delicious Gambas al ajillo. We then had the most perfectly cooked chicken dish with sage, garlic, leeks and roasting juices, and some barbequed lamb chops. For dessert we recommend the lemon meringue pie or the baked cheesecake with strawberries and basil. They also have an extensive well sourced wine list and shake up a very good Tommy’s Margarita.

If you are a fan of the traditional British roast dinner, don’t miss out on the their special Sunday menu. They offer a variety of roasted meats with all the trimmings and gravy.

With an enviable location in Santa Gertrudis, you could take a stroll into the centre of the village and enjoy drinks at one of our favourite bars, grab a stool at the Bar Costa for a cerveza with the locals or let the talented mixologists at Overall shake you up some of Ibiza’s best cocktails.
