Le Barthélemy

Niche Travel Guides

Trust us, this hotel has the wow factor. The hotel ethos is there are no guests, just family returned home, so you can expect the staff to go that extra mile to give you an unforgettable personalised experience.

With its palm tree-lined infinity pool, modern interiors, and delicious beachside food, Le Barthélemy has quickly established itself as one of our favourite luxury hotels in St Barts. And it seems we’re not the only ones to fall for its charms, the hotel has picked up numerous awards over the past few years, including Condé Nast’s Readers Best Hotel in the Caribbean in 2019 and 2020.

Start your evening with cocktails and live music (Thurs-Sun) at the hotel’s rooftop bar Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, for some of the best cocktails in St Barts, they also serve a variety of delicious Tapas.  For a romantic dinner head to the French-inspired restaurant Amis,  a new opening for the 2021 season.

The hotel is located right on Grand Cul de Sac beach, where the shallow water means it’s a great place to go kayaking or snorkelling, with the equipment provided by the hotel. If that’s not relaxing enough (you are on holiday after all), Le Spa at Le Barthélemy is one of the finest Spas on the island. It’s also one of the only places on the island where they use luxurious La Mer products.

After making the tough decision whether to grab a sunbed by the stunning pool or on the sandy beach, we recommend Aux Amis Plage for one of the best feet in sand lunches in St Barts. Grab a book, and a glass of Rosé of course, and enjoy Lobster Tacos followed by the Tuna Tataki, both highly recommended.

We’ve fallen in love with the Océan Lux Piscine Privée room. As the name suggests, it comes with its own private plunge pool, with stunning views of the Caribbean Ocean. Paradise!

For an escape with family or friends they also offer two Villas, Aqua and Bleu, these luxury Villas are adjacent to Le Barthélemy, so they benefit from all the amenities of the hotel, but have that special Villa privacy.

If you’re searching for an authentic French West Indies experience, it’s hard to think of a more idyllic setting than Jean Imbert’s La Case.
