Kensho Ornos

Niche Travel Guides

While it’s unusual for us to begin a hotel review by waxing lyrical about breakfast, Kenshō Ornos in Mykonos has mastered the most important meal of the day. It’s a morning ritual of fruits, freshly baked pastries, yoghurts, and cereals. Of course, the suites are delightful too, blending cave-like stone walls with bamboo furniture and striking views over Ornos Bay. For a relatively new hotel (it only opened in 2016), Kenshō has already picked up several awards, and is one of the best boutique hotels in Mykonos. You can also take over the entire hotel for a wedding, and they offer tailor made packages to help create your perfect honeymoon in Mykonos.

As the name would suggest, Kenshō Ornos is just a short walk from the restaurants and bars of Ornos Beach, but the sunset lounge bar and hotel restaurant make it tempting not to leave. The Executive Chef, Nicos Constantinou, breathes new life into traditional Mediterranean ingredients by harnessing Asian and Latin flavours. It’s a relaxed atmosphere – simply perfect after a lazy day by the pool. Speaking of which…

You could spend your days sipping expertly crafted cocktails on an oversized sunbed, snacking on the mini burgers topped with truffle cream and occasionally dipping into the pool – however, no stay would be complete without a visit to the Cave Spa for a Himalayan Rain Body Cleanse. The Kenshō Cave Spa was recently crowned the best hotel spa in Eastern Europe 2020 at the world Spa and Wellness awards.

Kenshō at Ornos is home to 10 suites and 25 luxury rooms, each one so elegantly designed it’s hard to pick a favourite – however, the VIP Junior Suite just takes the lead, thanks to its luxurious private pool.

Whilst staying at the hotel we recommend the nearby restaurants  Pasaji and Apaggio – both tick the boxes of great food and views of Ornos Bay.
