Petunia Ibiza

Niche Travel Guides

If there is a more picturesque place to enjoy a sunset cocktail in Ibiza, we haven’t found it. Petunia Ibiza looks out onto jaw-dropping views of Es Vedra, the island’s most famous offshore rock.

The sprawling property has been welcoming visitors to the island for more than two decades. Found on Ibiza’s scenic west coast, it’s the ideal base for those seeking the other side of the island – away from the madding crowds, where it’s easy to have an adventure off the beaten track.

Weddings Ibiza: The view, coupled with the serene location, makes Petunia Ibiza the ideal location for an intimate wedding – and truly spectacular reception photos.

Petunia’s rooftop terrace has one of the best views of the Es Vedra sunset in Ibiza. Grab a glass of wine or a cocktail, then sit back and wait for the sun to begin its performance and transform the sky into a vibrant show of pinks and oranges. Dinner is served in the hotel’s signature restaurant, La Mesa Escondida. Chef Lorenzo is passionate about using local produce to create delicious homemade pasta dishes. In fact, the hotel even has its own garden, where he grows an incredible 98 varieties of tomatoes for use in the restaurant.

Petunia is the hotel we turn to when we are craving a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Tucked away in an intimate cove – Cala Carbó – and surrounded by fragrant pine vegetation, we spend our days relaxing by the pool or tucking into homemade pizzas from the woodfired oven. Niche knowledge: Petunia is just a 15-minute walk to Cala Carbo beach. After taking a dip in the sea, we recommend a long lunch at Restaurante Can Vicent, which specialises in fish and seafood. They serve an excellent Bullit de Peix, a famous Ibizan dish of fish stew, rice and aioli.

Every room at Petunia has been designed to make the most of the view, but our favourite has to be the Es Vedra Junior Suite. Once inside, a private balcony sits you in direct view of the Es Vedra sunset. With a gorgeous terrace, luxurious bathtub and boho Ibizan touches, including a woven headboard and rug, it’s exactly where we want to be when we’re craving deep relaxation and time out from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

We first discovered OVERALL while wondering around the charming Santa Gertrudis in 2021 (their opening year). We were extremely impressed both the delicious food (with a real focus on the quality of the ingredients) and the creative cocktails that we had on the terrace.
