You simply can’t stop Alexandre Narakas. What was, for many years, a ranch-style property, inspired by his insatiable love of travel – we’re talking Javanese-style Villas with zebra prints on the walls, canopies over the beds and alfresco bathrooms. The outdoor furniture is also achingly cool – oversized four-poster sunbeds, hanging wicker lanterns and poolside cabanas. You’ll find this one-of-a-kind hotel in San Jose on the west side of Ibiza on the hillside overlooking Cala Tarida, the ideal location to explore some of the island’s best beaches and restaurants. Discerning members and friends return year after year to this unique and exclusive private club for members only.

  • Niche nights

With a brand-new bar, stunning sunset views from the terrace, and a BBQ with a DJ on a Sunday afternoon, Can Xuxu gives you plenty of reasons to skip the cabs. Plus, with just 12 rooms to choose from (each with its own unique character), Can Xuxu is about escaping the crowds and revelling in the exclusivity and privacy of it all.

  • Niche days

Ah the pool – all 14 metres of it. It’s everything you could possibly want from an Ibizan stay. Palm trees gently swaying in the breeze, Bali beds and friendly staff who get to know you by name – oh, and this private property is adults only. Can Xuxu also offers yoga classes on request, an outdoor gym platform hidden in the banana trees and spa treatments. Bliss. Breakfast was delicious – everything was home-made, you can choose from freshly squeezed juices, jams, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and eggs, the perfect way to start the day.

  • Niche loves

The Bali Pavilion Suite with its incredible outdoor shower and terrace overlooking the pool. For dinners out we recommend Can Berri Vell for Mediterranean cuisine in the charming village of Sant Agusti, or Can Domingo in the countryside for some incredible Italian food, both are only a short drive away.
